Three Nittany Lions were drafted in the 1968 NFL/AFL Common Draft. The 1968 team was Paterno’s first perfect season. Despite going 11-0, the Nittany Lions finished behind 9-0 Ohio State and 9-0-1 USC in both polls. Five Nittany Lions were drafted in the 1969 NFL/AFL Common Draft. Despite posting its second consecutive undefeated, untied season, the Nittany Lions did not have a shot at the national championship. President Richard Nixon awarded the national championship to the winner of the matchup between the Texas Longhorns and the Arkansas Razorbacks, then ranked at the top of the polls, despite no bowl games having been played yet. Excerpt: 1994 Arizona Cardinals season The 1994 Arizona Cardinals season was the team’s 75th season with the National Football League and the 7th season in Arizona. Buddy Ryan became the 32nd Head Coach in Cardinals history. After being given a large share of the credit for the success of the Houston Oilers in 1993, Ryan was named head coach of the Arizona Cardinals in 1994. Also named general manager of the Cardinals, Ryan went 8-8 his first year. The Cardinals finished the season ranked third in the NFL in total defense, but an anemic offense, one which saw three quarterbacks start at least one game, held the team back. Arizona lost its first two games by a combined five points, then was shut out 32-0 by the Cleveland Browns . The Cardinals recovered to enter the final week of the season with a shot at the playoffs, but those hopes were ended by a 10-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons . 2009 Arizona Wildcats Football Team $45.99 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The 2009 Arizona Wildcats football team represented the University of Arizona in the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS college football season. The Wildcats, led by sixth-year head coach Mike Stoops, played their home games at Arizona Stadium. Arizona hosted Central Michigan of the Mid-American Conference to begin the season on September 5, 2009 (with a 19-6 win), and ended the regular season with a 21-17 win over perennial conference power, then-ranked #20 Southern California on December 5, 2009; this was the first victory over USC by the Wildcats in the Mike Stoops era. In addition to the slate of nine conference games, four at home and five on the road, the Wildcats traveled to Iowa City, Iowa and lost to the Iowa Hawkeyes of the Big Ten (who eventually finished with a #10 AP Poll ranking and an invitation to the Orange Bowl), and hosted in-state sister school Northern Arizona of the Big Sky Conference the preceding week. |

A Journey Interrupted $7.07 I was born in London, England, the only boy of a family of five. My education and travels have taken me to Lagos, Nigeria, Lancaster, England, Ontario, Canada, and the United States of America. I live with my two sons in Scottsdale, Arizona, where I run a financial planning business. I enjoy motorcycling, sports, and traveling. I attend North Phoenix Baptist Church in Phoenix, and I am involved in an outreach program known as Stephens Ministry. The book is a true inspirational story. It details the extraordinary journey my family traveled when my 38yr old wife and mother of our two children, ages 3 and 6,was unexpectedly diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. It talks about our dreams, hopes, fears, successes and challenges and how our faith in God led to spiritual victory. The main question I considered was how a family that appeared to have it all- success, love, peace and harmony could survive a sudden and tragic turn of events and yet maintain a sense of hope. The great news is that we did, through faith, love, courage and perseverance. |
