Give a Shout for Chicago White Sox Tickets

If you get your hands on some Chicago White Sox tickets, you can be sure of watching some really great baseball. Like most high-level major league teams, the White Sox have had their share of scandals, slumps and World Series wins. Today they are one of the strongest teams to contend with on the field.

The White Sox are a major league team with affiliations with the American League and Central Division. They have a current all time season record of 8300 wins and 8092 losses. When the White Sox are at home, they play from the US Cellular Field in Chicago.

Success And Scandal

The White Sox began their run as the Sioux City Cornhuskers in 1893 and it wasn’t until 1904 that the team played as the Chicago White Sox. By 1914 the team was strong and solid and Chicago White Sox tickets were becoming a popular product. Then by 1917, the team literally ruled the field and it was no surprise that they walked away with the World Series title that year.

A surprise was in store in 1919, when the White Sox found themselves in the middle of a sticky scandal. The event is known as the Black Sox Scandal and occurred during the 1919 World Series. Eight members of the team were involved in throwing the game which involved local gamblers as well as some mafia members. The eight members were subsequently banned for life for their involvement.

Slow Starts And The World Series

What followed was one of the leanest years in the history of the White Sox. Despite making improvements under different owners, it wouldn’t be until the 1950s that the team really started to make a difference on the field. In 1959, the team won its first pennant in 40 years and this lead to a marked improvement in play.

By the 1980s, the White Sox were emerging as one of the teams to watch and sales of Chicago White Sox tickets began to climb again. In 1983 the team managed a West Division Title but it was not until 2005 that the team brought home a World Series Title win. Not only that, the White Sox managed to win an American League pennant and a Central Division title that same year too.

Baseball fans often buy Chicago White Sox tickets to witness the rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and the White Sox. This team rivalry is quite intense and the sides have often come to blows on the field. Fans on either side are extremely loyal and often harbor outright dislike for the rival team. This dates back to what are known as the ‘old baseball wars’, which have their beginnings in the early 1900s. The teams often play exhibition matches and attendance touches all-time highs during these games.

Naturally the White Sox have also inducted a fair number of players into the Baseball Hall of Fame. These include some big names like Edie Collins, George Davis, Carlton Fisk and Ted Lyons. What better way to enjoy some killer baseball than with Chicago White Sox tickets! Get in touch with an authorized ticket vendor if you plan on purchasing your tickets online.
